  • GW SCIENCE FAIR SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 2015 The George Washington Science Fair for 7th and 8th grades will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 6 p.m. in the library.Registration and project set-up will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. The public may browse the projects until 6 p.m. The library will be closed to parents and the public during judging.The Science Fair Awards Program will take place the next day, January 14, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Parents are welcome to attend. Students who place in the GWMS Science Fair will receive invitations to participate in the T.C. Williams Science Fair.Information about the separate 6th grade Science Fair will be posted later ...

  • STUDENT INTRAMURALS GEARING UP FOR THE NEW YEAR Attached is the announcement about Intramurals for the year. Parents must fill out a permission slip for students to participate - this will be posted soon on the GW website at (we'll also include in the Crier when it's available). Please note that one permission slip covers students for all three seasons

  • BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! ART ON THE AVENUE – SATURDAY, OCT. 3, 2015 The PTA will be hosting the popular "sand art" activity at Art on the Avenue again this year. Art on the Avenue is a multi-cultural arts festival that takes place along Mount Vernon Avenue near GWMS. The festival attracts 300+ artists, musicians and food vendors ... and up to 50,000 visitors per year. It's a great opportunity for GW families to interact with future students and the Alexandria community! WE NEED 25-30 VOLUNTEERS TO MAKE IT A SUCCESS! ... We are seeking about 10 adults to get us started. We envision 2-3 adults working alongside 3-4 students in shifts throughout the day  ARTISTIC TALENT IS NOT A PRE-REQUISITE ...
